The idea of the Digital Garden has always caught my attention as a chronic ‘research hobbyist’.
I came across several resources when researching Digital Gardens. My process thus far has been quite simple – search ‘Digital Gardens’ in a Search Engine (DuckDuckGo) – see what comes up. I’ve listed here the resources that I felt pointed to further resources, thus acting as a kind of ‘way-finding’ for myself and perhaps you :). I may have also listed a few sites that inspire/or have informed the way I wanted to try organizing my information here.
I found this article referenced a few times:

The main thing I was (constantly am) thinking about is – how to implement this.
I break this down to:
For now, I know that I want to build on my existing site, so the technology aspect is done. But then comes the categorization and technical organization to set the foundation up for the Digital Garden. I’m doing my best right now NOT to over complicate and worry about it. I’m going to trust (through past experiences building tons of sites and publication projects) that the organization will have to reveal itself to me as I get going. “I need content to organize – so make the content first,” I tell myself.
The first step is to use the most basic foundational structures (i.e Category and Tags) to get going and see how far I get. For all I know, this project could be updated frequently and then suddenly … almost never.
I know that I want to build a kind of on-going ‘wiki’ and Notion/Obsidian/Apple Notes type experiences, where I can access ideas, references, bookmarks, and think / build out loud, while also making it public (because it gives me a kind of … community feeling, like I’m not just crazily researching all of this for myself and then it sits in my notes for 10 years, but it can maybe spark something for someone else by/IF then find it). I know that for myself, there’s a joy to stumbling into someone else’s ‘digital garden’ or a well written blog where I can get lost in … someone else’s thinking world. I’m writing this for myself, first, and I’m writing it for whoever finds it useful.
I also want to share ‘essays’ or more ‘blog’ type writings, which I guess will be a little more, ‘developed’ versions of my ideas.
BUT again, I am still trying to figure that out.
And to be honest, have been trying to figure that out for a long time. (*Here I’ll insert, that there digital garden also takes some of the pressure off of … ‘writing perfect’ essays’, as most of my thinking is VERY MUCH in progress. And I want to embrace that. Even what I’m writing here feels much more liberated, as it’s something I know I can publish, but also come back to later and change.) SO, if the resonates with you, maybe a Digital Garden is a nice entry point for you as well in sharing your ‘rough drafts’ and thinking in progress – which honestly, we all are … in progress.
I assume, for now, the more ‘formed’ ideas or ‘blog’ type sharing, will go into my newsletter – >>>
(which you can subscribe to if you want updates on the Digital Garden / weekly thinkings on several topics involving … my persona life, spirituality, mental health, business building, living abroad + learning language of said country, alternative/more care centered economic models, democracy, movement, anime, martial arts and so forth).
